Dr. Natalie MulliganNaturopathic Doctor, Founder
Dr. Natalie Mulligan graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). She completed her clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic with a focused interest in mental health. Prior to attending CCNM, she completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Waterloo.
Since completing her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program, Dr. Mulligan has been working with adolescents and adults in various private practice settings, all in the field of mental health. Most recently, Natalie has founded EatWell Health Centre, an affiliate of BeWell Health Clinic, which is a one-of-a-kind eating disorder treatment centre. EatWell blends family medicine and psychiatry with individualized therapy and nutrition to provide comprehensive, recovery-focused treatment to patients with eating disorders.
Dr. Mulligan is also a co-founder of Arrae Wellness, a supplement brand that creates products targeted towards her patient population’s needs that can be used safely alongside pharmaceutical medicine.
Natalie is registered Naturopathic Doctor with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and is currently practicing at EatWell Health Centre in Toronto.
Dr. Nidhi JalotaPhysician
Dr. Jalota joins our team of family doctors who are some of the best doctors in the city. They have been selected through a rigorous screening process and are available to treat all medical issues including physical examinations, prescriptions for medications, medical tests and referrals.
Dr. Jalota completed her premedical and medical degrees at the Windsor University School of Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies. She later completed her Clinical General Internal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Toronto and a three-year Family Medicine Residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Jamal LakePsychologist - Psychological Assessments
Dr. Jamal Lake completed his Psy.D. (Doctorate of Psychology) in clinical psychology from the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) in 2011 following an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Guelph. Since completing his training and being accredited by both the Australian Psychological Society and Canadian Psychological Association, Dr. Lake has been working with adults across private practice and hospital settings. He primarily uses a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach but integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, interpersonal and mindfulness-based techniques into his treatment. Dr. Lake currently assesses and treats adults who present with depression, anxiety/stress, PTSD, chronic pain, ADHD, sleep difficulties and substance abuse. He uses a holistic, collaborative approach tailored to each client to help them effectively cope with their struggles, achieve their treatment goals and improve their overall quality of life.
Dr. Lake is a registered clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) and a member of the Ontario Psychological Association.
Filomena obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work through the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Filomena discovered her passion for working with individuals impacted by eating disorders and co-morbid mental health issues through her academic and professional experiences. This desire stemmed from her research as an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto in which she focused on social comparisons in relation to body image and the onset of eating disorders.
Throughout her clinical experiences, she has worked with a diverse range of clients in hospital and community settings. Filomena is also comfortable working with a variety of mental illnesses given the high level of co-morbidity in eating disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, and/or addictions. Filomena utilizes a holistic and strengths-based approach to help individuals explore their inner strengths and resources to rediscover their authentic self. She provides a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to express their thoughts and feelings to best support them in their journey towards meaningful change.
Rachel received her Masters in Social Work through the University of Toronto and has been working in private practice and various mental health hospitals since 2012.
She is certified in various forms of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Emotion Focused Therapy. Her interests include mood and anxiety issues, managing life transitions, substance use issues and eating disorders. She is passionate about helping individuals to find more meaning and authenticity in their everyday lives. She works with clients from a nonjudgmental stance, helping individuals to feel both safe and challenged.
Rachel is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Anastasia AssurasPsychotherapist - Family Therapy
Anastasia received her Master of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University in Vancouver, BC and is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Anastasia is a trained individual, couples, and family Psychotherapist with experience delivering evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and uses the Gottman Method Couples Therapy in her practice. Anastasia uses trauma-informed practice in her work, and has training and experience with Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Corin AmesCertified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP)
Corin is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP), practicing Applied Holistic Nutrition.
Corin received her CNP designation from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, where she graduated with First Class Honours.
Corin pursued health & wellness after she experienced first-hand, the life-altering effects of holistic healing once she learned how to nourish, love, and repair her own mind and body.
As a Holistic Health & Wellness Practitioner, Corin’s mission is to empower and educate her clients on balanced nutrition and wellness while empowering them to find peace with food and their bodies. Her balanced and sustainable approach helps her clients to create optimal vibrant health using whole healing foods and nutrients, movement therapy, and positive mental health practices.
Kimmi completed her Honors Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Western University and her Masters in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Kimmi has always had a passion for mental health and has fostered her interest and development as a practitioner through her academic and professional experiences. Her previous research focused on early attachment relationships and socio-emotional development in early childhood. She has provided educational and community support for Hope’s Garden Eating Disorder Support and Resource Centre, and currently volunteers as a crisis counsellor for Kids Help Phone.
Kimmi has experience working with adolescents and adults within a clinical setting. She has worked with a variety of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress, trauma, self esteem, and relationship challenges. She approaches counselling from an integrative, client-centered perspective, incorporating different evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and compassion-focused therapy. She strives to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship to cultivate positive change, personal growth, and healing.
